About Lily
 

Lily Wu is a reporter, model, writer, public speaker, and community volunteer. 

She is a television reporter for the ABC affiliate, KAKE News, in Wichita, Kansas.  Having been raised in Wichita for a majority of her life, she is happy to report stories that impact her home state of Kansas.

During 2007-2008, Lily represented Rotary District 5690 (Kansas and Oklahoma) as the recipient of the prestigious Rotary Ambassadorial Scholarship.  During her year in Hong Kong, Lily traveled extensively throughout Asia and made more than 70 speeches and appearances worldwide, including Australia, China and Mongolia.

She completed her Master's of Journalism from the University of Hong Kong, having spent nearly a year and half as a Rotary Ambassadorial Scholar in Hong Kong.  In 2007, Lily graduated summa cum laude from Wichita State University with two bachelor's degrees.  

Lily was WSU Woman of the Year in 2005 and one of five female Senior Honor Women for the Class of 2007.  She was named “Outstanding Senior” for her B.B.A. in International Business and “Overall Outstanding Communication Graduate” for her B.A. in Integrated Marketing Communications. 

Lily is active in the community as a board member for Visioneering Wichita and the Wichita Asian Association, where she also serves as co-chairperson for the Miss Asia pageant.  She is an active committee member for the Mid-Kansas Susan G. Komen Race for the Cure and chairwoman for the Kids for the Cure.  In her spare time, she enjoys traveling, dancing, and spending time with her family and friends.

Born in Guatemala and raised in Kansas, Lily is of Chinese descent and speaks English, Spanish and Cantonese.
